THE 3rd ANNUAL CHICK-FIL-A GOLF CLASSIC – June 28, 2013 at Rock Harbor Golf Course
The planning is in full swing for the 3rd Annual Chick-fil-A Golf Classic scheduled for June 28, 2013 at Rock Harbor to benefit JDRF and Service Dogs by Warren Retrievers.
This year we are adding a morning flight of play to the tournament. The morning flight will tee off at 8 am. These foursomes will be served breakfast and lunch. After lunch, we will have the awards ceremony and raffle prizes. The cost for the morning flight is $75. The afternoon flight will begin at 1:30 pm. These foursomes will begin with lunch then golf and finish the day with dinner, awards, and raffles. The price for the afternoon flight will be $85.
The past two years our weather has not been optimal, so this year, we are due for spectacular weather. Chick-fil-a will be our main sponsor again this year, while Malloy Ford remains the co-sponsor.
Come out and enjoy 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls, goodie bags, raffles, 50/50, Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Hole in One Package, and other great contests and prizes.
The past two years we had a great turnout, 33 teams. We are hoping to hit 40 this year. We appreciate all the support that our community has given to us in making this a successful tournament. We can’t thank our sponsors, prize donors, and players enough for your continued support!
Last year we introduced a new type of sponsorship called the Family Tribute Sponsor. This is something that I would love to see grow. The family tribute sponsorship is in honor or in memory of a friend or family member that lives or lived with type 1 diabetes. On their hole sign, we place their name, a photo, the date of diagnosis and how long they have been living or lived with the disease. I believe this puts a “face” to the disease and helps our community realize that type 1 can affect all ages.
